Lessons of the River

“PechaKucha” means “chit-chat” in Japanese, and it is a fun (and challenging) presentation format involving 20 slides for exactly 20 seconds each. The slides are not advanced by the presenter, and they march on whether you are ready or not.

We use the word “synchronicity” a lot at Bright Shadow. Like so much in life, PechaKucha came into my life at exactly the right time. I was asked to present immediately after the first Bright Shadow retreat in mid September, 2024. I prepared and spoke about the Lessons of the River immediately after a life-changing realization of a dream, and exactly one week before Hurricane Helene delivered her mind-bending destruction to the people and places of Western North Carolina.

Bright Shadow’s headwaters and origins are in the river community, and immediately after this talk, the river community became so much larger. More on that subject soon…

Good lines,

Chris
